Feniton 3, Tipton St John 2 Both teams started this game on the back of fine victories the previous weekend, writes Richard Williams.

Feniton were the first to go close after just two minutes but, 20 minutes later, a fine through ball from Steve Flack saw Jody Freeman take a shot across the keeper from a fairly narrow angle just wide of the far post, Tipton had their best chance to take the lead from a corner which was floated to Flack at the far post but, unusually for him, he made a poor connection with the ball and put his header wide.

Tipton were punished four minutes later when Feniton broke away with a through ball to their striker who took it well when challenged by the outrushing Tipton keeper, Barry Wood. Both players collided, leaving Wood badly winded and the ball in the back of the Tipton net. Wood did well to recover and bravely stayed on the pitch for the rest of the match, despite clearly being in pain from damaged ribs.

Feniton scored two fine goals but after having a shot from Ian Pring saved, Tipton were awarded a penalty which Adrian Small scored. Straight from the kick off, Tipton regained the ball and Adam Connett scored. Tipton then mounted a number of attacks but were unable to create any further clear chances and Feniton held on.
