Tipton were completely outplayed in the drizzle by visitors Stokeinteignhead with their only consolation being a great tea was supplied by the ladies from match sponsors Bater’s Removals, writes Phil Wright.

With the visitors batting first, light rain set in just after Tipton had taken the only wicket to fall when David Birch bowled Ian Lang for 20.

Stokeinteignhead went on the score 214-1 thanks to 138 from Danny Britcliffe and 53 from Hugo Longrigg.

The wet ball contributed to some poor fielding with six catches going down although the centurion had posted 100 before offering three chances.

The rain had stopped as Tipton started their reply, but only Phil Tolley (22) and David Thayre (14) managed double figures as Tipton were skittled for 78. Will Salmon took 5-19 and Ian Bray 3-14 as Tipton lost by 136 runs.
