This was a closely-fought game with Honiton just pipping Sidmouth by five shots over four rinks.
Best winning rink for Sidmouth was Ray Tallent, Anne Tredget, Wendy Limpus and skip Doug Mountford by a margin of 27 to 11. Well done team.
On the previous day the men played the first round Denny Plate, also against Honiton, unfortunately losing by a margin of 33 shots.
Sidmouth had one winning rink at home which was John Farmer, David Lever, John Mason and skip Colin Bryant winning by two shots against a very strong Honiton side. It was a good result for the team.
On Wednesday, a training session was held both for indoor and outdoor players with 28 attending the session.
The course included a theory and practical session in measuring as well as rink etiquette for the marker.
One outstanding question to clarify is that a rebounding Jack to less than 20 metres from the front edge of the mat 'kills the end' even if it is done with the last bowl of the end.
