The ladies played a modified Medford competition this week - Medal for holes 1 to 8 and Stableford for holes 10 and 13 to 18. Holes 11 and 12 were out of play as the greens staff were improving the access across the road for these two holes. There were 29 entries for the competition, which is a pretty good turnout for this time of the year. Scoring is a little complicated, but as a non-qualifier competition it's greatly enjoyed by all.Considering the recent severe wet weather, most of the course has dried out extremely well and the greens were fast. Incredibly, three ladies all returned a score of 18, but on countback Maureen Howard was in first place, Mavis Vanstone in second and Sheila Thomson claimed third place. Sue Pyne had the only two of the day.
