Sidmouth Tennis Club hosted their annual senior/junior tournament for club members on a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon.

The competition was well supported keeping the courts constantly occupied well into the evening. All age groups were represented with pairings being drawn at random; how fortunate was the draw for some, this year’s winners were father and son combination Martin and Ollie Truman.

Congratulations to them and gallant runners-up, Hilary Caldwell and Louis Spalding. The aim of the tournament is to provide a fun day for young and less young culminating in a splendid barbecue provided by club caterer, Gill Hodge.

A big vote of thanks must be recorded to tournament organiser, Debbie Snelgrove for all her efforts in creating another successful event and well done to Marlene Maynard plus her social committee team for organising the raffle with such generous prizes from local suppliers.
