As you all know at the end of every sporting season there is a presentation evening where trophies and medals are given out to the Player of the Year, Most Improved Player etc and Sidmouth Junior rugby is no different, writes Mark Williams.

however, in our wisdom the U9s decided (from U7s) not to highlight individuals but to reward the whole squad equally.

We believe this helps build a strong team/group ethic, longevity of players and have been proved right as our third season comes to an end. This year the squad have really started to bond, helping, cajoling and congratulating each other along the way. We have usually put out two teams and have always mixed the players up both skill and position wise giving them all much needed experience. This has resulted in them playing 37 matches and winning 33!

So we felt the whole squad deserved rewarding and this year treated them to an exclusive session at Clip and Climb in Exeter. As you can see from the photo a fantastic time was had by all. (Including the coaches!).

Special thanks to all the coaches, Jenny, David, Pete, Jon, Kevin and Kerren, co-ordinator, Becca, all the parents who follow the team all over Devon, sponsors, Fords and Jack Burgess Aerials and lastly but most importantly, the players without whom none of this would be possible. Well done boys, have a great summer and see you all in September.
