The highlight of the week was the lady captain’s team versus the lady vice captain’s team.
The game, won by the vice captain by 22 shots, was played over two sessions by 48 ladies who, with ten honoured guests and the club’s president, Trevor Ashton Pritchard, enjoyed lunch between sessions.
A mixed match against Ottery St Mary resulted in a win by two rinks to one and an overall score of 60-47.
The rink with the best shot difference was Marian Watson, Elaine Reed, Brian Godbeer and skip Edward Backhouse.
In the men’s County Trophy Inter Club competition against Honiton, honours were shared with both teams winning two rinks and ending with an equal number of shots.
A drawn game against strong opponents, well done gentlemen.
Sidmouth’s most successful rink was Maurice Watson, Peter Clements, Mike Reader and skip Norman Brimson.
