With summer drawing to a close Sidmouth Badminton Club will return to action for what will hopefully be a successful and enjoyable 2012/2013 season; the club are very keen to attract new members to what is already a vibrant and friendly club, writes Graham Baker.

The club offers a mix of both social and competitive badminton, so if you have recently moved into the area why not go along, have a game and hopefully join the club. Alternatively if, at present, you play but not in a club then why not take your game to a new level, come along to the club to see what it is all about, you never know you’ll probably enjoy playing against a number of different people and feel that the club environment is the place for you to improve and take your badminton to the next level. You will be assured of a warm welcome. To encourage new members and see what the club has to offer, they will be running badminton taster evenings as part of their club nights during September for anyone interested in playing badminton and joining in.

Club nights start on Wednesday, September 12 at Sidmouth Sports Centre and will continue to run from 8 -10pm on Wednesday evenings through to the end of March 2012.

As well as the social badminton, the club also run five league teams, two men’s, one ladies’ and two mixed teams all of which play in the Exeter & District Badminton League.

These teams play at various levels and offer a wide range of competitive badminton to suit all players.

By joining Sidmouth Badminton Club, players automatically become affiliated to Badminton England and are able to enjoy all the associated benefits that this can bring.

As well as badminton, the club also hold other social events such as quiz evenings, skittles/pub games evenings etc to bring the members together away from the badminton court.

For information on the club either go along to one of the taster evenings/club nights or contact Linda on 07980 375780 or Graham on 01395 578023.
