Congratulations to the Sidmouth Ladies who won the match by five shots - 56-51. The score was very close throughout the game and enjoyed by all who played. Sidmouth's winning rink was Iris Rogers, Pat Pritchard, Dreda Taylor, Eileen Stribling (skip) 29-12. Well done
After the game all the ladies sat down to a very enjoyable lunch prepared by B Farmer, M Watson and P Wrench, which the county president and her ladies appreciated very much .
The Masons Trophy is a national competition consisting of two rinks with the scores from both rinks being added together to decide the winning team.

Sidmouth's second team played against Isca Bowling Club, at Sidmouth, winning by just three shots.
This, once again, was a very close, exciting game enjoyed by all the players despite the pressure, at the 18th end the score was all level. Going into the last end Sidmouth were three shots up, with one rink having finished, gaining another shot. The other rink was four shots down with one more wood to come from a Sidmouth Skip. It was nail-biting time, but a superb bowl from Jill Bishop drew second wood, making the final result a win for Sidmouth 39-36 Marie Wall Beryl Sparkes, E Clements, Eileen Hewett (skip) 25-17; Pat Pritchard, Christa Turner, Ann Capon, Jill Bishop (skip) 14-19 .
