West Hill Wasps Under-12s are in the midst of a magnificent season in the Exeter and District Youth League, writes Steve Birley.
The youngsters have made a glorious start to their Division One campaign with six wins and just a single goal defeat in seven outings.
However, they reached new heights on Saturday when they became the first team to inflict a KO Cup defeat on Sampford Peverell-based CS Tigers for three years!
The Mid Devon side won the Under-9, Under-10 and Under-11 cups, but they were beaten 2-0 by a slick Wasps outfit in the first round of this season’s competition.
The clean sheet the team kept was sixth in eight league and cup outings and they are yet to concede a single goal at home after three matches there to date.
The team are without a league engagement tomorrow, but then have a run of four successive Saturday morning home matches at their Kings School, Ottery headquarters.
