West Hill Wasps 1, Stoke Hill 0 West Hill Wasps Under-12s were deserving clean sheet winners after an enthralling contest and a third win in as many games keeps the top of the fledgling table, writes Mike Marsh.
Both teams started well and the midfield battle was keenly contested.
Wasps glovesman Jordan Fowler had to make a couple of smart diving stops early on, but Ben Marsh, Thomas Rush and Ollie Pugsley gradually got the measure of their midfielders and started to create chances for Jack Hatswell and Ollie Benson.
With Will Amos, Tom Simmons and Bailey Wallace composed in the Wasps defence the Exeter side rarely threatened the home goal in the first 15 minutes.
A long range dipping shot from Hatswell was touched onto the crossbar by the visiting glovesman and, when the ball came back off the bar, Benson met it with a sweet volley only for the flag to be raised for an off-side offence.

Stoke Hill rallied, but the Wasps defence held firm. On the counter Wasps, with Hatswell, Benson and Max Thomas all prominent, fashioned further chances, but none were taken, but the one goal proved to be enough to give Wasps all three points.
