West Hill Wasps Under-8s have just completed their first season of football with a campaign in the Exeter and District Youth League.

Wasps, formed at the start of the season and managed by Allen Morgan and Ben Hogan, have bagged some terrific results along the way.

They have found the football competitive, but every step of the way enjoyment and ‘having fun’ has been the key.

To round the season off Wasps met two teams from Dawlish for a round-robin of four matches which saw Wasps win three of them.

One point most worthy of mention is a big ‘shout out’ for Clare Major who decided she did not want to be part of the team photo when it was taken, but she is, without doubt, the true manager of a football team of very happy youngsters who have loved every minute of their first season. Collectively, the players would like to say: “Thank-you, Clare.”
