Ottery St Mary claimed a fifth victory of the Macron League Division Three season, winning at Clyst Valley Reserves by the odd goal in seven.

After a couple of clean sheet successes in their last two outings, the Otters had to dig deep before emerging, deservedly, with all three points to keep their hopes of another promotion alive.

Skipper Curt Winchombe led by example, scoring two of the Otters’ goals and the others were netted by Matty Daly and Jordan Wilkinson.

That Wilkinson goal means he now has scored four times in his two games since returning to action from an injury picked up in pre-season.

The Otters are in action this coming Saturday (January 20) when they make the short trip across East Devon to Lympstone.
