Sidmouth Warriors Under-9s were 5-12 winners over Twyford Spartans.
It proved to be a terrific contest with end-to-end action. Spartans would surely have scored more had it not been for the brilliant defending of Jamie White who had a wonderful game.
Goalkeeper Oscar Finch made a couple of crucial saves before the opening goal arrived when some quick-thinking by Finch saw him roll the ball out to Ethan Isaac who played in Lucas Vicary to beat two players then lay it off for Lucas O’Connor to tap in. Vicary then soon made it 2-0 after some great work by Dylan Robbins.
Twyford began the second half well, but again some superb defending by Jamie White and Will Lawrence, kept them at arms length.
After an own goal had increased the Warriors lead, goals from O’Connor and Vicary took the score to 5-0 before a late consolation for the Tiverton side. Jamie White was named the Warriors Man of the Match.
