PLYMSTOCK displayed their 2nd XI B Division championship credentials by making 244-4 against Sidmouth 3rd XI at Bicton College.
But they couldn’t turn this total into a victory, youngsters Harvey Sargent and Jamie Briggs denying their bowlers long enough to force the draw at 194-7.
Sargent made 34 and Briggs 27 not out to enable Sidmouth to pick up eight points from the draw.
The relatively meagre haul saw the side slip down to sixth in the table after getting up to third.
A good haul of points from the visit to Kingsbridge tomorrow could see the side back into contention for a promotion spot.
