A supreme performance from Ottery St Mary Under-18s gave them a 6-2 victory over Barnstaple Town at Washbrook Meadows.
The visitors actually opened the scoring through an impressive counter-attack but Ottery were level when Makan Coulibaly crossed for Jack Drew-Cull to powerfully head home the equaliser.
Gradually, the Otters took control and deserved took the lead when Drew-Cull assisted for Oliver Bradley to convert. It was 3-1 before half-time, as Luke Parramore scored with another thumping header.
A brilliant goal-saving block from Lewis Ayley kept Ottery in the ascendancy and Bradley effectively sealed the win with an accomplished finish, rounding the visiting ‘keeper with admirable composure.
Barnstaple did manage a consolation but there was still enough in the Ottery tank for two further goals, Coulibaly crashing a terrific effort against the bar and Drew-Cull snapped up the rebound. Paramore then completed the scoring for a happy day at the Meadows.
