Saturday saw the final team event of the Sidmouth Golf Club winter season come to a dramatic finale, writes Chris Roberts.

This very popular 4-ball better ball competition which is run over four rounds with the best three scores to count in addition top the final round, this year was cut short to two rounds plus the final round owing to the slightly damp winter months we have endured!

Lewis White and Trevor Kerridge proved that youth and experience combined is a force to reckoned with carding an impressive 44 points proving enough to win the day, and, with a combined score of 127 points, it was also sufficient for the pair to land the overall top honour.

Will Hastie and Moray Bosence, Neil Faulkner and Paddy Tallon, both started the final round on 87 points, but were unable to score the 41 points needed to pip the eventual champions. That left Hastie and Bosence having to settle for runners-up spot with Faulkner and Tallon finishing third.

Kym White and Kevin Trivet just edged out Mick Munro and Ray Gunston to claim second place in the final round, this after count back was used to separate the pairs after both finished with 40 points.
