Readers of Devon Life magazine have been invited to an exclusive lunch to celebrate the news that a hotel's restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star.

Gidleigh Park and its executive head chef, Chris Eden, were given the prestigious honour when the Michelin Guide 2023 was released in March.

On its website, the Chagford hotel says its “elegant and intimate award-winning restaurant provides a sophisticated backdrop to our decadent menus”.

It also says its internationally renowned wine cellar accommodates “offers one of the most impressive wine lists in the British Isles” with more than 13,000 bottles from around the world.

The exclusive lunch will be held on Thursday, September 21.

It will be hosted by Devon Life editor Catherine Courtenay with Gidleigh Park’s general manager Simon Franks.

On arrival, guests can enjoy a crisp glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne and canapés in the lounge, followed by a guided walk around the gardens.

Each course of the three-course lunch will be personally introduced by Chris Eden.

The event will conclude with tea, coffee and petit fours on the terrace.

Tickets cost £95 per person. For more information on securing your place, pick up this month's copy of Devon Life magazine.
