An Easter exhibition to raise money for deafblind children starts today in Branscombe Village Hall.
The East Devon Artists for Charity show lasts until Monday, and is in aid of charity Sense.
Ursula Pratt, organiser of the show, explained: “I organised an exhibition a few years ago for the same charity, and was so moved by these young people born deaf and blind.
“From the proceeds of the exhibition my husband and I physically made them a very nice garden, concentrating on scented plants and those nice to touch.”
Mrs Pratt hopes to buy a hot tub for the children the charity help to use with the proceeds of this weekend’s show.
She has been donated a painting of a Tea Clipper ship, titled China Moon, by renowned artist Barry Mason, and Beer artist Andrew Coates is also hoping to donate a painting to the exhibition.
Ursula said: “As well as very affordable paintings by well known artists, we also have pottery, ceramics and glass made locally.
“In addition to this we have a raffle of a watercolour by Sally Tuckey, and a very specially made fruit cake decorated in the shape of St Winifreds church in Branscombe by one of my newly discovered artists.”
The exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm, with a 50p entrance for adults, children go free.
