Ottery Community Theatre is proud to announce that its next pantomime will be The Princess and the Pea, written and directed by Jill Machin.

It is a traditional family pantomime with an evil king plotting to expand his kingdom in the most underhand way possible. Will he succeed or will he be thwarted by a mere servant? A whole host of characters are needed to bring the production to life – a dame (of course!), a handsome prince, an evil side-kick, and several animals, to name but a few. The important dates for getting involved are Tuesday, September 6, and Tuesday, September 13, from 7pm - 9pm at The Institute, Ottery St Mary.

September 6 is the pantomime read-through and is for anyone who wants to be involved in any way - acting or helping out either backstage (costumes, props, lighting etc.) or front of house. Adults and children of any age from school year six upwards are very welcome.

Anyone wishing to act in the pantomime should also come along on September 13 for the casting workshop, which is an opportunity to try out some different parts and get to know the other members of the cast. The workshop is great fun and everyone who wants to be in the pantomime will be given a part. No previous acting experience is necessary, just the commitment to attend rehearsals and join in.
