Fun-filled nights of wild dancing and exuberant, driving dance music are on offer daily at the upbeat ceilidhs and dances at the welcoming Blackmore Evening Ceilidhs, as well as the after-hours knees-ups at Bulverton Late Night Extras, in the Anchor Garden, and beyond.

The lively English ceilidh scene offers many a good old energetic knees-up, with skilled and entertaining callers to guide the uninitiated and expert alike through their paces. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, and Sidmouth FolkWeek is proud to champion many of the leading dance bands in the country.

This year’s cavalcade of ceilidhs includes both the cutting-edge electronica of The Monster Ceildih Band, and the evocative traditional English country sound of the Old Swan Band. Enduring Sidmouth favourites Polkaworks and The Valiant Dance Band return, alongside the energetic and entertaining likes of Threepenny Bit, Lasair and Banter.

Callers include: Gordon Potts, Nick Walden, Jo Freya, Barry Goodman, Fee Lock, Martyn Harvey and Emma Wooders.
