Organisers of Sidmouth FolkWeek said the streets are alive with the sound of music after the first weekend of the music festival was a scorcher.
The town and seafront is a hive of activity as the festival fills the streets with a celebratory atmosphere, with lively music, dance and song everywhere you go.
Highlights over the first few days included War Horse author Michael Morpurgo reading from his moving First World War story, accompanied by haunting songs from John Tams and Barry Coope.
At the HUB, the main performance area for the festival, there were performances by The Big Chris Barber Band, Black Umfolosi and Ireland’s premier traditional band Dervish.
Still to look forward to at Sidmouth FolkWeek 2012 is Mick Ryan’s Folk Opera
The Pauper’s Path To Hope, the Martin Simpson Trio, Archie Fisher and Dick Gaughan, the Jason Wilson Band and Whapweasel.
