The streets were alive with the sound of Harleys on Monday as bikers from a French motorcycle chapter rolled in to town.
20 members from the ‘The Spirit of the Alpes’ stopped at Sainsbury’s car park to show off their bikes and enjoy croissants, tea and a well earned break from their UK tour.
Mark Dobson, son of Mayor Glyn Dobson, is part of the chapter and arranged for the group to stop off in Ottery.
“This is one of the best Harley chapters in the whole of Europe,” he said. “I’m really pleased by how many people have come out – I wasn’t expecting half as many.”
The group are riding more than 1500 miles on a route that has so far taken them up through France and along the south coast.
