Fancy a big night out with friends? The Bulverton is the place to enjoy high-octane evening roots shows and dance parties each night from 7pm through ’til the early hours. Everyone is welcome!

The dance party hub is situated next to the Festival car park, up on the hill with the iconic Sidmouth FolkWeek sign!

Amongst the main shows on offer are the best names on the contemporary folk scene, including Peatbog Faeries from the Isle of Skye – the ultimate party starters, playing high adrenaline roots music made for dancing; Oysterband’s 40th anniversary celebration with classic songs from every era of a long and mighty career. Never static, the band make a modern, folk-based British music, acoustic at heart, sometimes intense, sometimes rocking; with yet another acclaimed album under his belt, Dartmoor’s Seth Lakeman returns with his trademark stomp, swooping fiddle and soaring vocals for a dynamic, visceral set; a Celtic Party Night double header features Live Act of the Year at the 2015 Scots Trad Music Awards, RURA, and all-star new generation Glasgow band Ímar featuring the prodigious talents of Mohsen Amini on concertina; Welsh indie-roots band Rusty Shackle will be brandishing their distinct folk-roots sound – an electrifying mix of rampant fiddle, scorching electric guitars, pounding drums, searing trumpet and banjo; Mawkin, cutting edge five-piece 5-piece band fusing blistering folk, blues and rock….and much more.

The venue’s funky makeover makes it a great atmosphere for the party-focused nights. As well as evening gigs, the venue plays host to Late Night Extra ceilidhs, early doors sessions with special catering/bar deals and the funky Betsy’s Lounge dedicated to relaxation and late night acoustic playing and singing.

Arrive early to make the most of the night, with Early Bird Bar & Food Special Deals running from 7pm to 8.15pm

Tuck in to some treats at the brand new Betsy’s Eatery, Polly Nostimo’s tasty little Greek food truck, pitching up to delight hungry Bulverton goers. “An absolute Greek gem from Devon!” – open from 7pm through to the wee hours.

The Bulverton Bar, run by the Anchors Away Bulverton ‘A’ team offer up a variety of Caledonian, Festival and Branscombe ales and Sandford Orchards and Annings ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks, and fantastic cocktails for cool dancers and all Bulvertonians. This year the bar stays open to serve those going into Betsy’s Lounge.

With the Bulverton evenings starting at 7pm, you can make great a night of it with a Big Gig Ticket. If you want to stay on for the whole evening, including the late night dancing at LNE, a Big Ticket will cost you just £6 more than an evening show ticket.
