Terry writes of VSO work on leprosy centre in Tanzania in autobiography ‘African Harvest’

ENTITLED African Harvest, this newly-published autobiography is of Terry Reeves, who has lived and worked around the globe before retiring to Newton Poppleford.

A combination of pressure from his friends and family, and encouragement from friend and author Billy Hopkins, inspired Terry to write his memoirs, writes Charlie Lister.

Terry completed his studies at Kingston Maurward Agricultural College before moving to Africa with Voluntary Services Overseas.

He took over the management of a missionary-run leprosy centre farm in Tanzania, where he developed a life-long passion for Africa and its people.

Terry later lived and worked in the young Seychelles, before becoming farm manager for the University of Malawi in central Africa.

African Harvest is “a true and compelling story of two people who discovered their deep passionate love for Africa and for each other. Filled with extraordinary stories, funny anecdotes, and warm tales of the people that formed their lives.”

The book is “a moving and powerful account portrays the joys, sorrows and adversities they go through in following their dream to live and work in Africa, demanding courage and endurance far beyond their imagination.” African Harvest is available at Sidmouth bookshops, from Amazon, on Terry’s website www.terrysworld.co.uk, or direct from Terry (01395) 568301.
