Cadhay House will open its doors again to host the May Fair for Ottery Parish Church later this month.

The event will include falconry from Jonathan Marshall, ferret racing, archery and local performers.

The fair on Saturday, May 28 raises money for Ottery St Mary Parish Church, but was blighted by damp weather last year.

Organisers are hoping to draw a big crowd with entertainer Nutty Noah, the Ottery Silver Band and the Taiko Drummers, along with a barbeque, cream teas and a beer tent, alongside the many stalls and sideshows.

This year the stall holders are being encouraged to dress in Elizabethan style, in keeping with the building of Cadhay, which is again being used with the permission of R. Thistlewayte Esq. It is open from 11am to 4pm, with a free coach leaving from Down’s Motors at 11am. Tickets cost 2 for adults with children under 14 free, and there is free car parking.
