A much-lauded Sidford eatery has gobbled up yet more plaudits.
The Salty Monk won silver in both the restaurant and bed and breakfast categories of the Taste of the West Awards after taking a couple of years off from competing.
Both chefs by trade, owners Annette and Andy Witheridge’s cooking has received two rosettes from the AA, while the accommodation was named the Best B&B in England in 2008.
When broken the news by the Herald, Annette said: “People try to call us fine dining, but I say we’re just honest cooking with flair.”
