MASQUERADE founders Ken Davis and Ray Pickworth can continue their popular Sausage and Mash suppers after being given a lifeline by a cancer charity.
FORCE, which benefits from the proceeds of the evenings, has agreed to handle food and drink arrangements at future shows, enabling the two thespians to provide the entertainment.
Ken said: “This may possibly be some form of Cabaret as we have plenty of friends who are both willing and capable of putting on a first class show.”
By not needing scenery, which required a lot of manual work by the duo, a comeback is planned for November.
Halls in Tipton St John booked for November 4/5 and in Woolbrook for November 25/6.
Ray said: “Ken will still handle ticket sales, seating and publicity, maybe more depending on how we shape up after hospitalisation.”
The couple are both suffering poor health, which is why they decided to stop running the Sausage and Mash suppers, but FORCE argued a case for keeping the event, which is a valuable source of income for the charity and a successful and entertaining evening for all concerned.
