Dream of Sidmouth studio and gallery realised

LANDSCAPE and portrait artist Amy Cummins has always wanted to open a studio in Sidmouth.

Now her dream has come true as she takes on an upstairs studio and gallery in the town’s Libra Court.

On Monday she starts work there full-time, and combines this with the launch of an exhibition of her East Devon landscapes at Kennaway House today (Friday) until Monday, March 5, from 10am to 5pm.

From Sidmouth, Amy, who now lives in Exeter, said: “I have had quite a few exhibitions at Kennaway House and I’ve always wanted to have a gallery and studio space.

“My dream was to have it in Sidmouth. It is ideal to be in my home town again.”

She uses oils or acrylics for her landscape paintings and oils or drawing for portraits, and will have a selection of new works and older ones at her gallery.

Amy is also running an exhibition at Kennford, Exeter at Taverners Farm, called The Subconscious Mind, which is on until the end of March.

Her studio will open from 9am to 5pm.
