Home-made cakes a treat for folk festival lovers
STAFF at Kennaway House, Sidmouth, were busier that usual during FolkWeek.
As well as accommodating teams of stewards and marshals for the many concerts and dance events planned, manager Liz Halls and house manager David Leach decided to utilise the popular Cellar Bar, turning it into an afternoon tea room for the week.
And it proved a popular decision among festival goers, with Liz, David’s wife Carolyn, who made homemade cakes each day, and their son Luke, who waited on customers, being rushed off their feet.
All the money made goes towards the upkeep of the newly-restored Regency property, which is fast becoming the cultural hub of the town.
