Popular and highly respected Tipton husband and wife team Terry and Anne Knight are gearing up to take key roles in the Tipton Players and Pantomime Society's 2009 panto, Rumpelstiltskin, at Tipton Community Hall from Tuesday, February 17 - Saturday, February 21, at 7.30pm.

When Terry and Anne handed over the leadership of the TIPPS Junior section to Diana McKay and Terry stood down as TIPPS' chairman, the couple looked forward to taking a back seat, but Anne has been cast in the title role as the nasty gnome and Terry had "his arm twisted" to join Paul Kinson to form a dynamic comedy duo Smash and Grab.

Natalie Kellett, Claire Rule and Jane Williams are three super young people who started with the juniors as children and went on to help Anne and Terry put on productions and they are all playing principal parts in Rumpelstiltskin.

Twenty-one year old Natalie is cast as goose girl Gretel, 19 year old Claire Prince Roland and 18 year old Jane as the Nymph.

Other former TIPPS juniors in the cast are 15 year old Mathew Haysleep, who plays Sammy Slowcoach and sisters Emma and Alice Holden, who are in the chorus along with Lauren Taylor, whose mother plays Rosamund, Gretel's companion.

Why not boo Anne as the baddie, laugh at Terry's awful antics and join a host of colourful characters for TIPPS' Rumpelstiltskin, written by Norman Robbins and directed by Stephanie Kinson and Yvonne Kellett. Tickets 6 adults, 4 children, can be obtained from Tipton Village Store, Saturday from 10am-noon, Tuesday 9.30 - 10.30 am, Thursday 3 -4pm or by ringing Anne on (01404) 812040.
