IF YOU have an unwanted three-seater settee and two matching armchairs dating to the 1960s or before, Sidmouth Amateur Dramatic Society would like a call.

IF YOU have an unwanted three-seater settee and two matching armchairs dating to the 1960s or before, Sidmouth Amateur Dramatic Society would like a call.

The drama group, whose current production is the comedy Celebration by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, urgently needs furniture from this period for the show.

It also wants 16 tubular metal stacking chairs with canvas seats and backs, which were once the usual seating to be found in public halls.

The wish list doesn't end there. Ray Pickworth, the play's director, needs a radiogram, Dansette record player, flight of three ducks, plaster ornaments and framed pictures, of the Vernon Ward variety, to set the '60s theme.

"Readers of the Sidmouth Herald have an excellent record in providing items for plays to be presented in the town," said Ray, who can be contacted on (01395) 568578.

Tickets for the show, which runs from Tuesday, June 16 to Saturday, June 20, are available now from the Manor Pavilion Theatre's box office (01395) 514413.

It is proving popular, with 50 seats already sold to one social group for the Saturday matinee.

Ray will appear in this year's Charles Vance Summer Rep season.
