ARTISTS Catherine Osbond and Matt Culmer to hold their first joint painting exhibition at East Devon Art Academy, Sidmouth.

Breaking Light, Sidmouth, by Catherine Osbond

ARTISTS Catherine Osbond and Matt Culmer are holding their first joint painting exhibition at East Devon Art Academy in Sidmouth.

The exhibition, at Old Fore Street, is of land and seascapes of the area and opens from 10am to 5pm – including Sundays – from Saturday, February 19 to Sunday, February 27.

Catherine, who moved to Sidmouth 12 years ago, paints in all media but has concentrated on oils for this exhibition.

Since arriving in the town she has concentrated on the inspiring local landscape, paying particular interest in skies and the effect changing light has on land and sea.

Matt is a landscape artist who specialises in painting outdoors on location.

Primarily an oil painter, his wet-in-wet painting techniques capture the often fleeting effects of light.

Matt paints mainly in the East Devon area, where he has a studio, but also travels regularly to France and Spain to paint there.

Their work can be viewed online at www.eastdevonart.co.uk and www.mattculmer.com.
