THOUSANDS of revellers descended on Escot Park, near Ottery St Mary, at the weekend as Beautiful Days scrubbed up nicely.

Beautiful Days

The sell-out, colourful family festival spectacular, in its eighth year, saw 13,500 people enjoy performances from Newton Faulkner, The Wailers, James, and founders The Levellers.

Indie legends James’ encore performance of Sit Down on Saturday night proved a stand-out moment as fans rushed the stage to dance with the Manchester band.

Newton Faulkner’s Dream Catch Me and a rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody also proved a hit with fans who flocked to the main stage on Friday.

The Levellers traditionally closed the three-day festival on Sunday.

Pleased organiser Laura Farrow, of DMF Music, said: “The weather held out for us and there was a great vibe on site with lots of brilliant acts. We sold out well in advance, the festival has grown organically. There are lots of families with children and they all feel safe and happy.”
