Riverside Players join forces with Newton Poppleford Tennis Club to raise funds

HOT on the heels of its successful pantomime, Cinderella, The Riverside Players from Newton Poppleford promise some Countryside Capers in the village this month.

The drama group has joined forces with Newton Poppleford Tennis Club to stage a fund-raising event at the village hall on Saturday, March 26 from 7.30pm.

Countryside Capers starts with a short sketch from The Newts, the Junior Riverside Players, followed by three one-act plays, interspersed with music and song – all with a decidedly rural flavour.

Seating will be around tables and during the interval a tempting ploughman’s supper, prepared by the tennis club members, will be served, together with tea and coffee.

Tickets are £8, to include supper, and are already going quickly. To check availability call (01395) 568897.
