Pirates float Society’s boat

FOLLOWING the success of its recent productions, particularly the sell-out Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Sidmouth Arts Club Operatic Society is preparing to set sail with its next production - Pirates of Penzance!

FOLLOWING the success of its recent productions, particularly the sell-out Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Sidmouth Arts Club Operatic Society is preparing to set sail with its next production - Pirates of Penzance!

Society chairman, Selwyn Kussman, said: "We are pleased to announce that the same successful team who brought you Gigi, namely Alec Fellows-Bennett as director with Roger Howell as musical director will be heading our next production, Pirates of Penzance. "Although Alec will be using the original score he will in his own inimitable way bring out the fun and humour of the story."

Rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, May 6, at St Peters Church Hall Sidford. Anyone interested will be more than welcome to join in and to meet the production team. For more information phone Selwyn on (01395) 515279.
