Sidmouth FolkWeek supporters’ spirits not dampened by downpour
ON the penultimate day of a so far successful FolkWeek, the weather cast its wicked face; however it was clear that it would take more than rain to dampen festival-goer’s spirits.
Seb Palmer, 34, an admin worker from Newton Abbot, said: “I’m having a great time, it’s a shame about the poor weather but it’s not going to stop us from having fun.”
Like previous days musicians and entertainers were out in force, lining Sidmouth’s already bustling streets.
Unlike before, today I noticed an abundance of young performers, who all seemed popular among the crowds of people braving the elements.
The day eventually brightened up and the events continued long into the night.
Many people will now be looking forward to tomorrow where the sea front will be lit up with fireworks and a procession, to celebrate the end of a successful, 57th folk festival.
