Sidmouth College art teacher work displayed
PUBLISHED: 15:00 23 July 2013
A Sidmouth College art teacher has been brushing up on his sales patter for an exhibition at the end of the month.
Department head Joe Webster’s work draws inspiration from Devon’s varied landscapes, from windswept moors to bluebell woods.
He is used to exhibiting in Europe and across the South West, but is looking forward to his first exhibition in Sidmouth as a chance for his students to see what can be achieved with hard work.
Joe said: “I love teaching art as creative talent is so important in today’s world, from starting up your own business to becoming an architect, or working in industries such as retailing, IT, construction and tourism.
“Encouraging youngsters to paint is rewarding – it is a very popular subject at the college because art can be fun, relaxing and therapeutic, in addition to nurturing vital skills.”
The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm on July 27 and 28, and entry is free.
