Sidholme music room venue for charity concerts next week

STAR of stage and screen, Fred Astaire’s musical career spanned nearly 50 years.

Now two charity concerts, sponsored by Sidmouth Lions Club to raise funds for Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) and the Children’s Hospice South West, will bring those magical songs back to life.

On Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19, talented singing group Musicality will trace Astaire’s career through his music at Sidholme Hotel’s music room.

Avril Best, Wally Cotgrave, Val Howels and John Montgomerie will sing, accompanied on keyboard by musical director Dorothy Worthington, with the added skills of Ruth James on violin and Helen Organ on flute.

Tickets (£8) are now on sale from Coles, High Street, Sidmouth.
