Choirs and variety acts boost Sidmouth Living With Cancer fund

TWO shows, one a Night of Choirs with The Rivertones Barbershop Chorus, Sidmouth Songsters and Sidmouth Cameo Singers and the other a Variety Night, are likely to raise £1,500 for Sidmouth Living With Cancer.

The cancer support group, which raised £52,000 through the Sidmouth Herald’s Campaign 2010, will use the proceeds to keep the minibus it bought with this money, on the road.

It is currently used by a number of groups and organisations in the town and not just for SLWC members.

Bill Lankester organised the choir night and member Shirley Ratcliffe organised the variety night, which included dancing from members of Sidmouth Ballet School, folk singing from The Claques, local GP Peter Fung playing guitar and Laura Glad on the cello.

Paws 2 Dance offered an unusual treat – canine musical freestyle moves.

Favourites Wally Cotgrave and Mo Cuthbert, together with Val Howels and comedian Baz Breadmore, were also in the line-up.
