The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be holding an open day soon in Exmouth and Sidmouth to entice new recruits into the industry.

They are currently offering roles in their community services that require no previous experience and come with lots of training, qualifications, and support, as well as recruiting for registered nursing roles.

Taking place on Wednesday January 18 from 4pm to 7pm Exmouth Hospital, Claremont Grove, Exmouth, EX8 2JN and Sidmouth Hospital, Sidmouth.

At these events people can meet different teams and learn about the role of an urgent community response worker (UCR), facilities assistants and registered nurses.

Attendees will also be able to find out more about the benefits of working at the Royal Devon (including career development and progression), and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. On-the-spot interviews are also available for suitable candidates.

Tracey Reeves, Royal Devon director of nursing said: “We’re really looking forward to sharing with people what it’s like to be part of the Royal Devon team in the community. The role of a UCR is really varied and no two days will be the same. You’ll have plenty of learning and development opportunities, and a great benefits package, including fantastic holiday entitlements and NHS discounts.”

Karen Jones, community nurse said: “There’s always something new to learn, and the experiences are so varied. The time I spend getting to know my patients in a more holistic and personal way has proven invaluable to me. You get to understand what’s important to them and, while you’re with them, they’re your sole focus. I have time to listen and they’re always so grateful for that.”

"We ask that people please pre-book for UCR and registered nurse positions before attending any of these events here, as this will help us plan staffing on the day.
