The team at local gym, Sidmouth Fit recently took on the daunting task of completing the highest three peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.

A team of 14 set off in the early hours of Friday morning, (September 29), via two mini buses for the long journey to Fort William, Scotland. The next morning was the start of the challenge, first up was Ben Nevis.

Tony Sarsby said: "It was a relatively challenging but essentially nice walk in fair weather to start the challenge. After this, the challenge continued with a 6 hour drive back to England and to take on Scafell Pike.

"This would be the hardest of the three peaks and for most, a challenge like no other so far in their lives. A constant Incline, in the dark, driving rain and 50mph winds meant this was not only a challenge but one that was constantly considered if to be taken on at all. To finish, another 5 hours of driving into Wales to take on Snowdon which again ended up being completed in rain, this time however in daytime.

"Unfortunately, the target of 24 hours was slightly missed mainly due to adverse weather conditions. Team Sidmouth Fit have raised an amazing £3000 for children's charity Stanley Beau Foundation."

The team would like to thank everyone who donated/sponsored and the team, Matt Isacc, Tasha Evans, Amy Moore, Aaron Brooks, April Brooks, Dave Gwynn, Tony Sarsby, Rhys Thomas, Charlotte Raymont, Vicky Leslie, Will Gleave, Emma Jane Haigh, Ian Westran and Fi Ford.
