If planning is approved, 87 Sidford High Street could be demolished and turned into four new homes.

Planning application 23/2537/FUL involves demolishing the detached house, and creating two, five-bedroom houses, one, three bedroom house and one, two bedroom bungalow.

The existing large detached house, garage and nearby buildings, which the applicant says are "in an uninhabitable state will be demolished".

The application says: "The new build houses are for market housing designed specifically for this site. They are also sized to minimise overlooking of each other and neighbouring properties outside of the site.

"The buildings have been designed to reflect a modern aesthetic, the proposed palette of materials will reflect what exists in the locale, using a mixture of timber and render. The timber cladding will soften the buildings appearance with the boundary trees on the site."

The site will be accessed via a driveway which will be installed onto the A3052, Sidford High Street. The surrounding area is built up around Sidford High Street with homes and shops nearby as well as Sidmouth being just down the road.

The application has been submitted to East Devon District Council and will be reviewed by planning officers before being approved or refused.
