The 2025 Sidmouth Regatta will not feature an air show for the second year running, Sidmouth Town Council have announced.
Organisers have announced the full timeline of events for this year's Regatta which will take place on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.
The festivities kick off with a grand firework display on the Saturday evening. The RAF Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, are unable to appear in Sidmouth this year due to an overseas deployment in Eastern Europe, according to the Regatta organisers.
Although the team cannot display in Sidmouth this year, the town council said it will make renewed attempts to secure them for 2026, in line with their commitment to bring a summer air event to the town.

Despite no air show, this year’s Regatta weekend will continue to feature community events, supported by a network of regional clubs, voluntary organisations and Sidmouth Town Council.
Sidmouth Regatta Weekend is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the town’s calendar and further details of the 2025 programme have been announced by Sidmouth Town Council.
Sea-based events will include Sailing and Gig Races and the annual Surf Lifesaving competition.
This year, spectators will also be treated to a display from Sidmouth’s very own lifeboat, showcasing how volunteers train to save lives at sea. For landlubbers, there is a tug of war competition, a bar and entertainment at the Watersports Hub.
The ever-popular fireworks display, organised by Sidmouth Town Council, will have a makeover this year, with a music and pyrotechnics extravaganza delivered by award winning Sonic Fireworks, winners of British Fireworks Championships.
For many, one of the highlights of the weekend will be the much anticipated return of the raft race, which will be organised by the Rotary Club of Sidmouth with sponsorship from South West Water. This much loved event, which delighted generations of residents, will see teams from across the Sid Valley taking to the water in home-made craft and wearing fancy dress.
David Hodge, president elect of Sidmouth Rotary, said: “I am delighted that we have the outstanding support of Sidmouth Watersports Hub, Sidmouth Life Boat and Sidmouth Town Council in getting the raft race back up and running.”
